Learning workspaces
Give everyday learning a place to grow
A useful article, a question from supervision, a few notes after a course. Keep them together in a learning workspace without having to turn each one into a formal CPD record.
When you are ready, read supported sources, choose the material you want to use and create a draft you can check and edit.
Save an idea now. Decide what to record later.
- Start with one note, link or file.
- Return to a topic as your learning develops.
- Choose exactly what supports your next CPD record.
Collect first, without using a seed allowance
Open Workspaces from Home, create a workspace and give it a name you will recognise. Add separate editable notes, save links or upload supporting files. You can also select files you already own in your Library without uploading another copy.
Keep one small idea or build a collection around a topic. Saving and editing a workspace uses no seed or filing allowance. Your plan’s storage limits still apply to files.
Follow the quick capture steps when you have a link or file to save.
Illustrative learning journey
Making feedback easier to act on
- 1. Keep the context
Save an article and a note from a workshop. Leave out names and confidential details.
- 2. Add your thinking
“Specific examples made the advice clearer. I want to try ending feedback with one agreed action.”
- 3. Select and review
Choose that note and the relevant source result. Check the draft says you plan to try the approach, rather than claiming it already worked.
Read supported material, then check what came back
Saving a link or file does not start reading. Choose an available reading action for public article text or supported document text. Workspace image and scanned-page reading is currently unavailable; keep those files as evidence and add your own notes. Review the selected scope, warnings and source references before using a reading result.
Reading can continue while you leave the workspace. Return to see whether it is Ready, Partly read or needs attention. Ready means material was returned, not that every detail is correct. Blocked sites and unsupported files can remain useful references alongside your own notes.
New YouTube reading is disabled. You can save video links and keep your own learning notes; previous reading results remain available. See the complete reading guide for formats, limits and fallbacks.
Choose what becomes a CPD record
Select the notes, links, files and available reading results you want Plant a Seed to use. Check the source review before continuing. Wait for unfinished readings or explicitly continue without them; unrelated workspace material is not silently included.
The seed keeps its selected source snapshot. Later workspace edits or reading results do not rewrite that draft or your filed records. Check the activity details, time spent, learning and suggested standards before filing. A structured reflection is an optional next step.
Free includes five meaningful seeds and five first filings per UTC month, as separate allowances. Saving a workspace does not spend either allowance. See the Free guide for plan details.
Return to the learning when you need it
Find recent workspaces from Home or browse Workspaces. Continue your notes, reuse relevant owned files and keep informal exploration separate from the records you have already approved. Archive a workspace when you no longer need it in your active collection.
Open your workspaces to begin; sign in if asked. For a finished record, export an individual PDF and check it before sharing.
