Keep useful learning before you lose the link

Save a link, a few notes or a supporting file into a learning workspace. Give it enough context to be useful later, then return when you have time to reflect.

You can start in the web app now. Browser-extension and phone-sharing channels have different availability; check the setup notes below before relying on them.

Saving material does not create or file a CPD record.

    • Choose a new or existing workspace.
    • Keep the source and your learning together.
    • Review material before it becomes CPD.

Start in HandyCPD: no extension needed

    1. Open Workspaces after signing in. Create a workspace or open one you already use.
    2. Choose Add material. Paste a link, write a note or use Upload files. To reuse evidence, choose a file you already own in your Library.
    3. Add a short explanation of why it matters: the point you learned, a question to explore or something you might try.
    4. Return later to read supported material and choose what to use in Plant a Seed. Check the draft before filing.

For a podcast, video or social post, saving the link preserves a reference. It does not mean HandyCPD has listened to, watched or read it. New YouTube reading is disabled; add your own notes and a useful timestamp.

Chrome and Edge: desktop sharing is in testing

Open Save to HandyCPD setup after signing in for desktop and phone instructions, available test actions and manual saving.

The unpacked desktop extension has been verified in Chrome and Edge testing. A public production package and browser-store listing are not available yet. You do not need it to use the in-app steps above.

If you have been given an approved test package, open your browser’s Extensions page, enable Developer mode and choose Load unpacked. Select the supplied extension folder and pin Save to HandyCPD. Do not install an unverified package.

On an ordinary webpage, optionally select text, click the extension and review the title, link and selected text. Choose Preview in HandyCPD, confirm the receiving account and choose New workspace or Existing workspace before saving. If the handoff is interrupted, retry the last handoff from the popup.

Capture starts after your click. It does not browse your history or collect pages in the background. A saved webpage may still be blocked or unsuitable for reading.

    Phone setup and current availability

    Android

Install HandyCPD from Chrome and open it once. From a webpage, choose Share → HandyCPD, review the preview and save to a new or existing workspace. Sharing options vary by browser and source app. If a file is missing, use Workspaces → Add material → Upload files.

    iPhone

A receiver and setup recipe exist, but a signed, importable and distributed Apple Shortcut is not yet available. There is no Shortcut download to install from this page. Paste links or notes into a workspace and upload files in the app.

Native iOS and Android apps remain deferred. Installing the web app does not provide full offline access or notifications. An internet connection is needed to save material to your account and use reading or AI features.

Check the account before saving a shared item

A capture preview lets you check the material and receiving account before saving into a new or existing workspace. Pending captures are held in that browser for up to 24 hours. They do not sync between browsers and can be lost if browser storage is cleared.

A handoff acknowledgement means the preview was staged locally; check that saving to the workspace has completed. On a shared device, discard unwanted pending captures. Avoid confidential material: local browser storage is not a confidential-record vault.

Saving a capture uses no seed or filing allowance. File storage limits apply, and reading has separate processing limits. See what HandyCPD can read before requesting a reading.

Save only material you have permission to use. Review AI interpretations and your own record before filing or sharing; a source reading does not establish attendance or CPD hours.
